Speaking at the trailer launch event of '2.0', AR Rahman not only spoke about the movie but also opened up his heart.
"In the beginning, we had planned '2.0' as a no-songs movie. Eventually, we have included four songs. For one of the songs, Shankar okayed the tune after I offered 12-13 tunes," Rahman said.
"First, we completed RR on the keyboard and the computer. Months ago, orchestra groups of 100 artists from London, 40 from Mumbai and some more form Chennai worked on the RR. When I watched the visuals, I felt encouraged to do better RR. I reworked again. We are going to release select BGM scores one week before the release of the movie," Rahman revealed.
The Mozart of Madras described Rajinikanth as his inspiration. "I like his spirituality and the dialogues in his movies. It's great that he is enthused to do films like this even at this age. I wanted to retire when I was 40. This is when I worked on 'Robot'. Seeing Rajinikanth sir on screen and off screen, I changed my plan. I feel blessed to be in the music field," Rahman said.
