I thought Censor Board would remove that kissing scene: Nagarjuna

Akkineni Nagarjuna's kiss of love in the climax of 'Gitanjali' is one of the most memorable scenes ever shot by Mani Ratnam. For that day and age, it was far ahead of its times. So much so, Nag was worried that it might be totally removed by the Censor Board. "I thought the Board will take a very conservative stance," he says in an interview.
When a special screening of the film was arranged for ANR, the actor told his father about the kissing scene well in advance. "Before the show started, I told my father that there is a long, unbroken kissing scene that is very aesthetic. After the show, he told me that's the best scene in the movie. He also assured me that no Censor Board member will remove that scene if ever he or she loved anybody," Nag adds in the interview.
Nag awaits the release of 'Manmadhudu-2' on August 9.
