Films rejected by one big actor turning out to be a blockbuster when offered to some other big star, is nothing new. 'Lagaan' was offered to SRK first. In Tollywood, the likes of Ravi Teja and even Pawan Kalyan and NTR had to either reject or forgo certain movies which turned out to be blockbusters, among them films like 'Idiot', 'Pokiri' and 'SVSC'.

Here is another example. It pertains to 'Baahubali', India's biggest epic historical fiction film ever. Of course, it's not about the titular role played by Prabhas. It's related to an unknown role that an actress rejected. It's Sonam Kapoor.

The Bollywood actress of 'Saawariya', 'Delhi-6' and 'Raanjhanaa' fame admittedly rejected a role in Rajamouli's magnum opus. She herself has said this on a talk show hosted by Neha Dhupia. Although she didn't elaborate on the reason why she rejected the offer nor the role offered to her, there are speculations that it was Tamannah's role which was offered to her. After all, Devasena is a powerful role which only an Anushka could have been envisaged to do.
