The Pre-Release Trailer of 'I Love You', starring Sandalwood superstar Upendra, was released at a grand event held in Bengaluru on Monday. Upendra and the film's cast and crew attended the event, while 'Kichcha' Sudeep was there as the chief guest. Ex Minister HM Revanna (Karnataka), GT Devegowdru (Education Minister of Karnataka), Kavali's YSRCP MLA Pratap Reddy, Ramachandre Gowdru (Specialist Hospitals), Mohan Kumar (Mohan Movies), Bahar Films Basha, and Lakshmi Prasad (Associate Editor) graced the occasion as guests.
The film's first trailer has garnered 10 million views and trended on social media as well. The film, touted to be Upendra's 'Star Is Back' movie, will be released in 1000 screens on June 14 (worldwide). The makers described the movie as a pure family entertainer.
Speaking on the occasion, director R Chandru described Upendra as a Chakravarthy of fans. "He is a superstar who has taken Sandalwood's glory to all other film industries. I am glad that Abhinaya Chakravarthy Sudeep sir, too, is here today. I admire him for his simplicity. He is such a gentleman who is so down-to-earth. Coming to 'I Love You', this has been made to be another 'Geethanjali'. Upendra sir is fabulous in the role. Heroine Rachita has done an erotic episode for the first time in her career. When she heard the script, she knew that she needs to get bold because only then would the script be justified. I thank GT Devegowda sir (a Minister in the Karnataka government) and others for being here. Devegowda sir takes care of me like I am his son. We are planning to release 'I Love You' on June 14. We are soon going to hold an audio event for the Telugu version in Vizag on the beach side."
'Kichcha' Sudeep, who launched the Pre-Release Trailer and Upendra's introduction song in the movie, said, "The movie is looking very rich. My best wishes to the entire team. I am amazed by Upendra's dance in the intro song. I have for long wanted to see him doing such dance moves since his 'Kutumba'. And this intro song is so trendy. After watching it, I feel it has now become a prestige issue for me to compete with him all over again. All said and done, I must say that Upendra's determination and hard work have always inspired many, including me. If we could go to other States and make a mark, it's because of his legacy. I would urge Upendra to continue to be an inspiration by directing a film. He has been into politics but I would say that he should take up direction once again. The industry needs him to direct a movie. The likes of Chandru and Prem have drawn inspiration from him. To speak about the latest trailer, it has been cut in an interesting manner. Besides the characters played by Upendra and Rachita, there is something more in the movie. I have acted with Rachita in the past and she is a fantastic girl. I thank the journalists from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for being here on the occasion."
Upendra said, "I am very happy today. I have known Sudeep for 25 years. We have known each other since our struggling days. And Sudeep has maintained the same fire within him from the beginning. He is known for his excellent acting and everyone, regardless of the language, knows him. He is known in Telugu, Hindi, etc. Director R Chandru's rise has been amazing. He dreams big. I was thrilled when I listened to the script of 'I Love You'. Rachita is a hot and glamorous actress and I am sure she is going to 'finish' the boys out there with this flick. Thanks to this movie, people are now finding it easy to say 'I love you' to others (shows the symbol of the movie)."
Dimple Queen Rachita said, "I was never bold in my previous movies except in speech. For a change, I have done an erotic episode in 'I Love You'. I was totally into the skin of the character and that mood helped me pull it off. Uppi sir was the first one whom I called up as soon as I listened to the script. I told him I will definitely do the movie. The audience will understand the bold scenes in the movie once they watch it."
Music director Kiran Thotambyle said, "My father made me an MD (I am a doctor by qualification). Director R Chandra made me another MD (Music Director) and so, he is like a father to me. I am glad to have bagged this big-ticket movie right at the beginning of my career."
KP Shreekanth, Raj Prabhakar (architect), Jack Manju, Bhama Harish (KFC Vice President), Dasari Rajesh (President - Chaya VFX-HYD), Dr R Nataraj, Rajashekar, Raj Kumar (RI), Muttanna - Hubli, Ravish (Distributor), and Chandan (Distributor) were also present on the occasion.
