Daksha Nagarkar of 'Hora Hori' fame will be seen as one of the two heroines in the upcoming comedy 'Hushaaru'. In this interview, the youngster talks about her role in the movie, her background and more.
Where do you hail from?
I am living in Delhi these days. I was born in Mumbai. I have stayed in different places, including Hyderabad, over the years. My mom works for a cosmetic company. She keeps travelling. I come from a very conservative background. My mom is a Rajput and my dad a Maratha.
What's your character like in 'Hushaaru'?
She is a homely guy who loves only one guy in the movie. I am paired up with Tejas Kancharla (of 'Ulavacharu Biryani' fame). She is a very emotional girl who listens to her parents and who wants her guy too to listen to them. She wants to balance it out. Her values are very important to her.
What's the movie like?
It's a story of four friends. It's all about entertainment and massive drama. It's a cool movie that will have you smiling, laughing while eating popcorn.
Why does the film's caption say we have to celebrate the bad?
When you are celebrating good, why not celebrate bad. I am a kind of a prankster. That's one of the things that I celebrate although it's bad behaviour. In the movie, other characters are smarter than me. So, I am not playing pranks on any of them.
How was it different to do this movie compared to 'Hora Hori'?
In my first movie, I worked with Teja sir, who works in a planned way. Coming to my role in 'Hushaaru', I didn't have to do much of homework. It was a different kind of role. My first movie didn't work but if you see the reviews of critics, you will see they all had good things to say about my performance. I was too young when I did it. I couldn't attend my classes during the second year of graduation because I was too busy with that movie. I completed things in correspondence.
What about your next movie?
'Hushaaru' went on for a year. Other actors were there for 2 years. I am yet to sign up. Because my first movie didn't do well, there has been a lot of gap. I have read a couple of scripts but nothing concrete has happened so far.
I love Telugu movies a lot. They are so much fun to watch. I like proper commercial movies. I don't like serious types.
