Manchu Manoj has a style of his own. Perhaps, he is the closest to his father in terms of weirdo in histrionics and delivering dialogues with a twist. One can observe that acting and doing it over the top comes to him naturally when one watches him on stage at an event or giving an interview.

In one such interview post the release of his family venture 'Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda' in which he has grabbed the limelight with a dual faced character Mohan-Mohini and the film is picking up with a great positive talk from both critics and audiences alike. Excerpts...

Reminded Me Of Brihannala & Ladies Tailor...

I am a die hard fan of Rajendra Prasad so much so that I used to tie banners for his movie release in my childhood. This character of mine in 'Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummeda' reminded me of his character in 'Ladies Tailor' and I jumped at it to grab with both the hands

I Joined The Team Late...

I was not there in the film in the beginning. Only those big four including Dad Mohan Babu, Vishnu, Varun and Tanish. One fine day when I was shooting for 'Potugadu' I got a call from Dad congratulating me for landing up with a role in the film. I called up Srivas to know the details. He explained me the role and enquired if I were comfortable. I said I was, so here I am. The credit for my get-up and get-go in the role goes to my sister Manchu Lakshmi.

Mohan & Mohini...

I played a dual role in the film, that of the Cop Mohan and eunuch Mohini. Loved both of them since both are new characters for me.

Didn't Work Hard On Body Language...

I can say a lot to satisfy you about how hard I worked for the role but In will tell you the truth, I didn't. I intentionally kept it simple and natural. But on the sets I was helped by Brahmanandam, hansika etc. They used to walk and I imitated them. Later they started imitating me... We also banned mobile phones in the sets to ensure the getup wouldn't leak out.

Never Did Before...

My mother had this habit of draping me in a saree when I was six seven years of age. I had some photographs which I posted in Twitter. Barring that I don't have any experience whatsoever with a saree.

Great Experience...

But I can say one thing. I got a great experience first hand after I played this role. I used to take three hours to get ready with make up and drape. We often crib about how ladies at home take hours to get ready but this experience has helped me understand them. I will think twice before I pass a comment on them from now on...

Hard Work Paying Off...

It was also especially hard for me to keep up with my fitness. To show the extra cleavage I had to put extra weight. You can actually see it in 'Potugadu' itself in which I look slim and fat in alternate scenes. So, in PPT, the make up man worked extra hard to give the female shape to my body which otherwise is cylindrical and let me admit, it was a torture to keep up the make up, get up and still give the expression. But it paid back and the laughs my character is getting in the theater helps me forget all the pains I have taken.

Loved This Production...

I loved this production for two very important reasons. One, I always had my family around, giving me tips on how not to do. And two, working alongside the legendary actor Mohan babu which is not a regular affair and not many would get this opprotunity.

No Wedding Bells...

Might take a while before deciding on my marriage. I am too young to even think of marriage. My mind and body is right now fileld with work.

Lakshmi's Song To Be Added...

We shot a bit song on my sister Lakshmi which was edited in the end. I always felt it should have been there to make it a complete family film. We are thinking again to add it again as a surprise for the fans.

Pipeline...

My immediate film is with Nageshwar Reddy co-starring Hansika. Its an action comedy and is a serious entertainer which I didn't attempt before. It will take off next week. Paralelly I am also working on a couple of projects including 'Son Of Pedarayudu' to be directed by Sagar Prasad and produced by Ramesh Puppala.

I Know My Stamina...

I know my market potential is not more than 12 Crores. So, unless the script demands, I ensure it is finished under the budget. Again, experiments like 'Oo Kodatara...' is my own production. Potugadu was done under a budget of 5 Crores and they had a huge table profit.

Great Feeling Directing Dad...

I did the stunts choreography for the film. I did with Vishnu before but first time with Dad. Initially I was scred to ask him for a second take but the great actor he is, he told me to go for the best and infused great confidence in me. We also took extra care in this film about the stuntmen. Especially in scenes like breaking bottles or glasses, we never had them broken on the fighters. It increased our costs but a great purpose is solved. It was appreciated by the fighters a lot.

Varun-Tanish, Great Buddies...

I also thank Varun Sandesh and Tanish whom I grew fond of over the production for being such professionals. They loved their characters and showed no tantrums whatsoever thru the production. I became great buddies with them.

Only First Half Of Golmaal 3...

Yes, we took the rights of Hindi film 'Golmaal' since we had the entire first half especially the characters based on that. However, we changed the course in the second half and created a whole new story.

Yes, We Might Come Three-gether...

If we get a suitable story, we will act together again. It could be a sequel as well but it will take a couple of years at least before we can complete our projects on hand and come together.
