It has been rumoured by a section of media that 'Okkadu' and 'Rudrama Devi' director Gunasekhar was recently spurned by a major streaming platform when he approached it with the proposal of making a web-series. The acclaimed director has refuted the gossip in a statement on Friday.

"This is to clarify that Gunasekhar garu has never approached any OTT platform, be it Netflix or some other thing, nor is he inclined to do that. Please don't believe, carry or spread any baseless rumours claiming to the contrary," his spokesperson said.

As is known, Gunasekhar will next be wielding the megaphone for 'Hiranyakashapa', starring Rana Daggubati in the titular role. To be produced on a massive scale, the feature film's pre-production works have been an unending work in progress since at least 2016 (on again, off again).
