Speaking at the audio release function of Oopiri, Nagarjuna said that he had found a brother in Karthi while shooting for the film. Karthi stood up and gave an ovation. He was later invited on to the dias by Nag.

Nagarjuna said, "Manam, MEK and SCN later, you have showered so much love on me. You are all my oopiri. My elder son is doing Saahasam Swasaga Saagipo. It's my favourite title. With 'saahasam', I did Gitanjali, Shiva, Ninne Pelladata, Annamayya, and so on. Many asked me why I was doing Annamayya after all that. Latest, I did SCN. In this film, I have said, 'Beauty not admired is sin.' I and my wife watched The Intouchables three years ago. I told her that someone should make this film in Telugu and if someone did, I will do the role. If we wish something strongly, everything conspires to make it real. That's how Oopiri happened. Vamshi has shown the world of emotions, fun, sensibilities, everything so well."

Nag further said, "All that we need is companionship. Howmuchever fortune we may have, what is the use of all that if one has no 'thodu'? The film is about that. Karthi is that 'thodu' in my film. I won't say things like Karth is a fantastic actor and all. He is a good friend in this film. This film will be a big hit, I know. But more than that, I have found a brother, a friend. In Tamil Nadu, I was received very well when I went to release the audio there. In the same way, we should embrace Karthi garu."

Further, Nag said, "I and Prakash Raj are friends in this film. We do a lot of comedy. I have a small regret that Tamannah is not my heroine. I felt angry when Karthi and Tamannah were romancing and I had to watch them sitting on a wheelchair. This film will give me fame as much as an Annamayya did."
