Popular music director Deepak Dev who is in cloud nine with the critical acclaim that he is receiving for his new work 'Urumi' says that he had to reinvent his musical vocabulary to do justice to the music of a period film like 'Urumi'.

Deepak Dev was asked to do all the nine songs, not the electronic way but also was told to note whether it appealed to masses when its is redone in Tamil, Hindi and English.Deepak acknowledges the work to be his best still date, which demanded an earthy and organic way of presentation. Deepak has also introduced a number of fresh singers like K R Renji, and Reshmi Satheesh which has given a very different look to the music album bearing genres of folks, ballads and lullaby.
