Nithya Menen has opened up on the movement in the film industry to speak out against sexual harassment. A few actresses have come out in the open in recent weeks.

I chose not to be part of any grouping and I prefer to fight it silently, she says, making it clear that she has her own way of doing things.

I do everything possible to counter it (abuse). Just because I am not doing it one way, doesn't mean that I am not countering those things or I am not against it. I am, but I have a different approach, she tells a news agency.

Elaborating further, she adds, I believe that my way is only through my work. The way that I work and the kind of things that I do, the way that I approach people when I am working. All this gives a strong message to people that I am working with, and to people who are watching my films.

The 'Janatha Garage' and 'AWE' actress reveals that, in the past, she walked out of a few projects because she was uncomfortable with a person or two.

As is known, she awaits the release of 'Praana' in multiple languages. 'Mission Mangal', in which Akshay Kumar stars, is her first Hindi film. In 'NTR-Kathanayakudu', she will be seen in a cameo as Savitri. And she will be playing late Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalitha 'The Iron Lady', a Tamil-language biopic.
