Hansal Mehta is one of the best filmmakers currently working in Hindi entertainment industry. Known for his excellent and unique cinema, Mehta has directed thought provoking projects like 'Scam 1992', 'CityLights', 'Omerta' among others.
Recently, during a conversation for YouTube channel Chalchitra Talks, Mehta shared his opinion on the cinema of Hollywood director Christopher Nolan. While Nolan is revered as one of the best filmmakers in the world, Hansal Mehta doesn't seem to enjoy his work.
"Unpopular opinion yeh hai ki main thoda bhaagta hun Christopher Nolan ki films se. Mujhe mazaa nahi aata," he said. Mehta further added that while he really loved 'Dunkirk', he couldn't even finish watching Nolan's latest film 'Tenet'. He said, "I couldn’t complete Tenet. Tenet se frustrate ho gaya tha main."
Apparently, he stopped watching the film once he realised that he'll be confused after the climax and thus found it unwise to invest any more time in it.
Finally, sharing thoughts on Nolan's style of direction, Mehta said, "Narrative structure ko voh poori tarah se tod deta hai, audiences ke saath mind games khelta rehta hai. It is an achievement (He twists the narrative structure completely, plays mind games with the audience).”
