Rakul Preet in this exclusive interview with IndiaGlitz talks about whether she is beauty-conscious, why she thinks she is a destiny's child, what she thinks about her superstar co-stars, the health tips she has for girls, so on, so forth.

IndiaGlitz has called you the Hat-trick 'Athiloka Sundari'. Being called a beauty is a great compliment. Are you beauty-conscious?

It feels good to read such articles. Who doesn't like appreciation? It feels nice when your work is appreciated. I am just enjoying the phase. I am not at all beauty-conscious. I don't even put make-up when I am not shooting. I am not particular about make-up, hairdo, etc when I am not in front of the camera. When I am going out, I am in Ponytail, jeans, Tees. I am just like any girl-next-door. Beauty is not external, it's internal. When you are a happy soul, you would be beautiful any time.

Ram Charan has said that you are brilliant and that's why they cast you in 'Dhruva'. After a flop like 'Bruce Lee', it must be a great opportunity. Your comments?

I take it as a compliment. 'Bruce Lee' didn't work and there were apprehensions about what the fans might say. People might have commented that Charan could have waited for some time before selecting me again. But that's what makes it a real achievement to me. People want to work with me because of the comfort level; nobody would work with you again otherwise. Maybe, they really felt there are no other options. I fit the bill. Anyways, I don't think about all that because too much of thinking can make you old.

But you didn't mention that Charan also said that I am very professional.

We were about to ask you that. Everyone says that you are a pucca professional. What makes you a cut above the rest?

I don't compare myself with the rest. I think there is an army clock ticking in me. I value time. I always want to be on time. I don't complain about things saying there is no caravan here, etc. For example, they could only arrange a tent on the location of 'Pareshanu Raa'. I understand the importance of money. I respect my work a lot. Not that I am the only one who works hard.

It was not an overnight stardom. I have reached this stage step by step, by meeting the right people. Getting the right offers helped me. I did reject films, but that made me even more wanted.

Charan has said that he cast you because he was impressed with your performance in 'Nannaku Prematho'. Your comments?

He didn't watch 'Bruce Lee' or what? We had worked together, I had worked with the director (for 'Kick 2'). I had done a film with Geetha Arts ('Sarrainodu').

Were you tensed about the prospects of 'Dhruva' because you had a flop with both the hero and the director before 'Dhruva'? With three hits in a row, would you say you are a lucky charm?

Getting tensed is not nice. I only think of giving my 100 pc. The rest I leave it to God, and the fate of the film. I can't control the outcome. I can only hope that it works this time. Sometimes things work, sometimes they don't.

I believe in hard work, not luck factor. The best efforts will reap the best fruits. Nobody can take all the credit. We don't even talk about the efforts of the director, the writers, other technicians, etc. They all together take a film to another level.

You missed out on 'Brahmotsavam'. In retrospect, you were lucky to miss it. Had you done that, you mightn't have got a chance to do AR Murugadoss' movie with Mahesh. Any proof required to say that you are lucky?

That happened quite a few times in my career. I won't tell what films they are. I am destiny's child; God's hand is there.

Rakul is everywhere nowadays. How is it possible?

Are you sad about that? (Laughs). Miracle aindi. It's a good phase and I am just enjoying it. Of late, I am being treated like a Telugu girl. Sometimes, they come to me with a changed dialogue version just five minutes before the shot. It feels good because they have faith in me.

You are still that down-to-earth person even after achieving stardom. What thoughts cross your mind when you look back?

I don't consider myself a star. I don't understand the word star. We are actors. If a film becomes a hit we are called stars, otherwise we are called actors. I don't rewind because I am in fast forward mode. It has been a memorable journey. I am someone who is attached to things and people. I thank everybody who has helped me. I thank my family, my manager who have put effort. It's because of them that I have come this far. When I hang out with friends, I don't discuss work with them.

Can you tell us something about these six co-stars of yours: Mahesh, NTR, Ravi Teja, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Naga Chaitanya?

On Mahesh: Although he is such a senior actor who has been there since we started watching films, he treats every film as his first film. He still has that passion.

On NTR: He has a lot of inborn talent. People can't know everything, but he is someone who is great at dancing, dialogue delivery, language control, etc. He is a rare actor who understands the real Telugu.

On Ravi Teja: He is Red Bull; he is full of energy, has a very natural comic timing, and a nice person.

On Ram Charan: He is so innocent; he is like a kid inside. He is a brat, he is super dedicated. he is a lovely person who has got a child in him.

On Bunny: More than hard working, he is very creative. There are actors. Then there are artistes like Bunny. An artiste is he who gets into the details of everything. Allu Arjun is someone who thinks through the things, sees how things can be improved. His understanding is very deep.

On Naga Chaitanya: I can't even imagine him playing pranks.

On the one hand, you are acting opposite a Mahesh Babu. On the other, you are acting opposite a Bellamkonda Srinivas. Don't you think it's uneven?
