I couldn't find George in 'George Reddy': Tammareddy

Tammareddy Bharadwaj and the slained student leader George Reddy were contemporaries when they were students of Osmania University in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Having seen George, the Leftist student leader and founder of PDSU from close quarters, Tammareddy has commented on the Jeevan Reddy-directed 'George Reddy'.

As per him, the film has merely used the name of George to make a not-so-realistic film. Since George was my friend, I went to watch the movie. I didn't see much of him in it. It's a commercial film. I had been to the film's Arts College set in Gacchibowli when it was in the making. I asked the makers why they had erected the Arts College set when George had nothing to do with it. He was a Science student. Even his place of death had nothing to do with the College. I understood long before the film's release that it would be a commercial film, says Tammareddy, speaking to a Telugu daily.

When the film's director was recently asked as to why George is seen riding Royal Enfield in the movie when, in reality, George was too poor to afford a bike, he said, Nobody in this generation would watch if the hero is shown to be walking on foot. Tollywood will always be Tollywood.
