It was a confession time for Megastar Chiranjeevi while speaking at the pre-release event of 'Tej I Love You'. Talking about the importance of KS Rama Rao's Creative Commercials in his career, the 'Sye Raa' actor shared an interesting anecdote.
After years of his successful association with Rama Rao (their 'Abhilasha', 'Challenge', 'Rakshasudu' and 'Marana Mrudangam' were hits), the producer wanted to do 'Stuartpuram Police Station' with Chiru as the hero. Megastar favoured Yandamuri Veerendranath as the director. But Rama Rao was not inclined to work with Yandamuri because the film's buyers didn't want a flop director ('Agni Pravesam' was a flop) to wield the megaphone for the Chiru movie.
But Chiru had other plans. He insisted that Yandamuri shouldn't be dumped just because of one flop. "Had I not been stubborn, probably 'Stuartpuram Police Station' would have become a hit with some other director making it. I have always felt guilty about it," the actor said on Saturday.
Chiru said that his son Ram Charan will work with Rama Rao after the Rajamouli movie.
