From stepping out of his casual jeans into the world of Gucci and Versace, he lived a fairy tale life in Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year'.
Now that he is finding himself in the midst of the glitz and glamour, the roadmap has been set in Bollywood for this Delhi boy. No wonder, life has changed for Sidharth Malhotra who just turned a year older yesterday.
"Yes, I was living with 'Student of the Year' for two years and then when it came and went off theatres, there were withdrawal symptoms for sure.
I was too attached to it", sighs Sidharth, "As for life in general, I guess it would take a while to understand what is the power of the audience and what exactly is all about fan and following. I am yet to understand the trappings of Bollywood. As for my point of view in life, nothing has changed.
There are some things that have changed though. For starters, he has been rather 'forced' not to be casual anymore about his appearance and general outlook and be a lot more particular about how he reaches out to 'aam junta' now, both in real as well as reel life.
Smiles Sidharth, "Well, after the release of 'Student of the Year', I remember going to market while wearing a black T-Shirt, regular jeans and those chappals.
I went to a shop and could hear whispers around me ki dekh yeh wahi waala hero hai. Suddenly they wanted to sell me all the costly items that they had in the shop! This is when I realised the power of Dharma Productions because log pehchanne lage they.
Now I couldn't afford to take it easy any more. So now I have to be far more conscious about how I dress up and go out in public."
Well Sidharth, this could well be a beginning. Aage aage dekho hota hai kya!
