Back Bench Student starring Mahath Raghavendra, Pia Bajpai and Archana Kavi is releasing today. It is directed by Madhura Sreedhar. Mahath Raghavendra, the hero of Back Bench Student shares his experiences about the movie, his co-stars, and his upcoming projects, in an exclusive interview to Indiaglitz.

How did the director pick you for this movie?

I had done a role in Ajith's 'Gambler' and Madhura Sreedhar has seen it. He decided that I am apt for this role as he might have seen a back bencher in me. Actually, I am very much a back bencher. As I was abroad then, he searched for two months for me. I am very happy that he has chosen me, though he has dates of big heroes.

What are the highlights of the movie?

There is a very good entertainment in this movie. Brahmanandham sir and Ali sir have done a very good comedy. I can't express my joy acting with such great actors. The story showing how a back bencher with 16 backlogs has won in life is going to be interesting and very entertaining.

This is your first Telugu film and Madhura Sreedhar's previous films have not reached much to the audience. How did you both think that you can make this project successful?

I have seen his previous films and they are very good. This movie is going to be reaching the audience for sure. Madhura Sreedhar is known for publicity. Those who have seen this has told that they cannot believe Madhura Sreedhar has directed it. We are confident that this will be successful.

What about the music of this film?

Sunil Kashyap has given an outstanding music. Sreedhar has sent me tracks of this movie before I signed the movie and I was excited hearing with them. I am also very happy two super hit songs by Ilayaraja, Jagada Jagada and Rajadhi Raja are remixed for a song in this movie and my best friend Simbhu singing them. I also thank Kolaveri fame Anirudh for singing in this movie.

Is it that because Simbhu is your friend, he has sung the song?

It is not because of friendship, Simbhu has sung this song. He loved the music and the lyrics. He is a very talented guy regarding acting, directing, singing or writing. He will not consider if it is a small or a big movie and he agrees to contribute if he loves it. So it is because of love towards the song and out of friendship, he has sung this song.

Tell us about your co-stars?

My co-stars Pia and Archana are very lovely. Though they are experienced than me, they supported me so much. It is great working with them.

It is heard that Mahath is naughty in personal life?

Yes, I am very naughty in personal life and used to make fun of all in the sets. As I do it for fun, they should take it as fun. I don't care even if they don't take it so and I continue to be so.

How many lip-locks did you have in this movie?

Actually, I should have lip-locked with both the heroines. But we ended with only Pia. There is a kiss scene with Archana, but it is not a lip-lock.

There is a rumour circling that you are dating with Pia Bajpai. What is your comment?

Actually, I kissed both of the heroines. But I can't understand why they are saying I am only dating with Pia. It would seem better, if they say I am also dating with Archana.

Does the movie connect to other classes other than youth?

Yes, all the classes will love the movie as it has good entertainment and the element love. The screen play is also excellent and it attracts.

What are your upcoming projects?

I am acting in the Tamil movie 'Jilla' along with Vijay and I am yet to act in a bilingual film in Telugu and Tamil produced by the makers of 'Gambler'.
