I am shaken, says Prithvi Shaw after BCCI suspends him

Budding cricketer Prithvi Shaw's urine sample has been tested and found to contain the banned substance Terbutaline. As a result, BCCI has suspended Shaw for 8 months. He can't play cricket till mid-November.

The banned substance was found in a cough syrup that Shaw consumed in February before a match. I accept my fate with all sincerity. While I am still nursing an injury which I suffered during my last tournament, this news has really shaken me. I have to take this in my stride and hope it inspires others in the sports fraternity in India that, we, as athletes need to be extremely careful in taking any medicine for the smallest of medical ailments even if the medicine is available over the counter and we always need to follow the protocol, Shaw said.

He added, Cricket is my life and there is no bigger pride for me than to play cricket for India and Mumbai and I will come out of this faster and stronger.
