Recently, farmers' leader Yograj Singh, who is better known as the father of former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, reportedly made a derogatory speech during the ongoing farmers' protests in Punjab. As per reports, he mentioned slain terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in a positive light. He also appealed to Punjabi sportspersons to return their awards as a mark of protest against the new agri laws.
On Saturday, Yuvraj distanced himself from his father's controversial remarks and also suggested that he doesn't endorse them. The celebrated sportsperson, marking his 39th birthday, wrote, "I am saddened and upset by the statements made by Mr Yograj Singh. I wish to clarify that his remarks have been made in an individual capacity and my ideologies are not the same in any manner."
Yograj is also said to have made highly offensive remarks against the women of a particular community. Ever since, there has been a hue and cry on social media against Yograj. A video clip in which he is seen making purported anti-Hindu remarks is doing the rounds.
Meanwhile, Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri has dropped Yograj from his movie 'The Kashmir Files'. "I can't work with him after he has insulted women," he said in a statement.
