There have been several rumours on social media that Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been afflicted with bone cancer. With thousands spreading the baseless rumour, the BJP leader on Saturday clarified that he is healthy.
"Some people are up to spreading false news about my health. Many have even wished for my death. I want to make it clear that I am completely healthy. I am not suffering from any disease," the 55-year-old Minister said.
Shah urged everyone to stop indulging in "such talks and let me do my work" at a time when the nation is battling Covid-19.
“Since I have been busy, I did not pay attention to the rumours. When this came to my notice late at night, I thought that all these people should enjoy their imaginary thoughts. So I did not give any clarification. But millions of my party workers and my well-wishers have expressed a lot of concern for the last two days. I cannot ignore their concern. So I want to clarify today that I am perfectly healthy and I do not have any disease,” Shah has been quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
He added that he has got no ill-will towards those wishing disease and death upon him.
