'I am not a good person' Dr. Vishnuvardhana

'I admit that I am not a good person'. I am not a learned person. A sea of change in my life is because of my actress wife Bharathi. I came to know what exactly life is all about from her said the superstar of Kannada cinema Dr.Vishnuvardhana after felicitating his wife at Abhimani Sambrama-2008.

In a touching, traditional and holding mirror to culture 'Abhimani Sambrama-2008' was organized in a top class style. Three prominent women achievers actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhana was honored by her husband Dr.Vishnuvardhana Smt.Anasuya Manjunath and Smt. Nirmala Rajasekhara Koti in the field of medicine and journalism were also honored by their respective husbands.

One of the nation's best playback singers Kavitha Krishnamurthy Subramaniam was given the 'Abhimani Award' on the occasion of 24th year of Abhimani publications.

The traditional style of felicitation was cynosure on that evening. Speaking on behalf of those who received the felicitation Dr.Vishnuvardhana said the woman is sent by God in his absence to this earth. In the form of mother, wife and daughter I have seen woman doing great service. Honoring my wife on this occasion is something I wanted to do but I got the opportunity from Abhimani group of publications headed by T.Venkatesh. Where there is Samskrithi and Samskara (culture and tradition) there you would find this type of touching functions said Dr.Vishnu. The essence of life is wife he felt on this occasion. A mother selects the right pair for his son scrutinizing whether she could fill my position in the absence. Dr.Vishnuvardhana who has taken 'Deekshe' was not supposed to talk in functions but he broke his promise because of the affection he had on T.Venkatesh proprietor of Abhimani group.

The esteemed singer of this country Dr.M.Balamuralikrishna was honored on this occasion and there was vocal recital from the stalwart on Kanakapurandara. Thiru Swamiji welcomed the gathering. Rasika Performing Art dance for the song Sriman Narayana received good appreciation.

After the felicitation Dr.Balamuralikrishna enthralled the audience with melodious songs on Kanaka Purarandara Keerthanas. The program started off with women family members of Abhimani group headed by Smt.Rangamma lighting the lamp.

46 Films in fray

For the Karnataka state film awards for 2007-2008 there are 46 films in the contest. As many as 17 Kannada films in it have not been released and remake films like 'E Bandhana, Sundari Ganda Sadanda, Mr Garagara, Satyavan Savitri and hotchpotch 'Bindhaas' films are dare enough to enter the Karnataka sate awards. There is absolutely no provision for remake films in the state awards.
