Earlier in the day, a fringe outfit by name Hindu Makkal Katchi lodged a complaint with the Commissioner of Police seeking, the arrest of Kamal Haasan and all the participants of the reality show Bigg Boss.
Speaking to a TV channel, Kamal has stated that he did not mind being arrested to prove a point and his point is that the accusation is silly as the cheer girls in cricket match who dance when boundaries and sixers are hit too should be arrested for wearing shorts.
He let out that he strongly feels the Hindutva groups mistake him for a communist, whereas in truth he is a rationalist who will welcome good ideas from both sides as long it does the world good.
Regarding the question of seven crore Tamilians' sentiments being hurt by the intimate scenes and skimpy dresses on the show, Kamal`s rejoinder is that he can read from 2nd Century Tamil poetry or a prayer of Abirami Battar a Shaivite Siddar who equated the Vedas with the Yoni.
On being targeted by Hindu and Islamist groups, Kamal laughingly signs off with “I am just a pilloried whipping boy. I am growing new skin now “.
