Ram Gopal Varma has described himself as a porcupine pig (Mulla pandi in Telugu). But there is a purpose behind this self-deprecation. He uses it as an opportunity to call some people pigs.

"A well-wisher recently advised me through a friend that I shouldn't use cheap tricks to promote the 'Lakshmi's NTR' trailer. He liked the trailer but he doesn't like that I am posting memes of Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and others watching the trailer. See, I am a 'Mulla pandi'. I come as a package. Take it or leave it. I use cheap tricks, controversies and it's my prerogative. Only pigs bother about porcupine pigs. The latter don't give a damn for pigs," RGV said during a TV debate as Lakshmi Parvathi kept laughing.
