I am a cute villain in 'Ami Thumi': Vennela Kishore

Close on the heels of 'Keshava', Vennela Kishore is gearing up for the release of 'Ami Thumi'. Saying that his is a full-fledged character in the entertainer, the comedian says that he is content with his career graph.
Playing a cute villain:
'Ami Thumi' is a kind of movie where all the characters are cute. None of them is serious.
I can't talk much about my character. When I was offered the film, I thought mine would be a short-lived character. I realized later that I have as many scenes as the other lead actors.
My name itself is curious. I am playing a cute villain who has an agenda. Other characters too have an agenda of their own.
The entire story takes place in the span of a couple of days. I travel to Vizag from Hyderabad for my marriage and what unforeseen events happen during that time is what the film is about. If I say anything more, the director might high me.
Indraganti is a special director:
I had always wanted to work in the direction of Indraganti Mohankrishna garu. He has a separate following of his own. Luckily, I got to work with him for 'Gentleman'.
We got to practice the dialogues two months before the film went to floors. A conference hall was booked at a hotel and we were asked to read everything about how each character reacts to different situations. So, when we went to floors, it was very easy and the film could be shot in a short time.
As such, there was no need to improvise on the spot. If my comedy works in the film, the entire credit should go to the director.
Not a bakra:
I am no bakra in the movie. You all know what happens to a comedy villain in our movies in the end. But how that is told is interesting.
A critical phase:
There have been many comedians after Brahmanandam garu. This is a critical phase as far as comedians are concerned. If a comedian is seen as monotonous, he is left out. Every Friday, there is a new comedian in the fray. 'Keshava' came at a juncture like this. It brought out something new in me. I can stay assured that I can do more. Director Maruthi garu called me up and told me I can be put to use in new ways.
After 'Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada', Nikhil told me I will be cast in his movies every time. It's like a government job for me now. (Laughs).
Satisfied and happy:
I have done close to 150 movies. I have got to work with those heroes whom I whistled for as an ordinary movie-goer.
