Sunil and Lavanya were friends from college days and both having graduated as engineers were working in Hyderabad. In March end Sunil had informed Lavanya's parents that he got a job in Muscat and would also like to take Lavanya with him to get her a job too. The parents agreed and they all went to the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on April 4th to send them off and the girl had told her folks that she would return home on the 7th.

Lavanya never returned and her phone was also switched off after a few days and the parents lodged a complaint. The cops during their investigations found that Sunil is the prime suspect and also found that he never left for abroad. When they nabbed him he confessed that he played out the drama of going to Muscat to fool everyone and instead after the parents left the airport checked into a lodge.

In the lodge, Sunil had strangled Lavanya to death and dumped her body in a suitcase and disposed it in a gutter. He had taken the extreme step as he had an affair with Lavanya and she had forced him to marry her.
