The recent administration in Telangana, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, is resolutely committed to eliminating the drug menace within the state. Bolstering this commitment, law enforcement has intensified efforts, exemplified by a recent successful operation conducted by the Narcotics Bureau. This operation resulted in the seizure of drugs and the apprehension of influential individuals, including software engineers. In alignment with these efforts, the Hyderabad police are now enforcing stringent measures to ensure a responsible and safe New Year celebration.

To uphold a standard of decency, event organizers for New Year festivities have received explicit directives against any form of obscenity or nudity during performances at their venues. The Hyderabad police, in consonance with this objective, have released comprehensive guidelines, urging organizers to actively monitor and prevent the sale of narcotics substances. Stringent consequences are outlined for non-compliance.

City Police Commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy, addressing the issue, emphasized, The use of drugs or narcotics is strictly forbidden. Organizers must take proactive measures to prevent such activities, and failure to comply will result in legal consequences. Vigilance should be heightened in parking areas and other locations prone to clandestine drug transactions.

To ensure the seamless and secure conduct of events, organizers are instructed to maintain sound levels below 45 decibels. Additionally, they are required to install surveillance cameras with recording capabilities, enhancing event monitoring. Adequate security personnel must be appointed to oversee security access and traffic management.

Commissioner Kothakota Srinivas Reddy, briefing the media, outlined key points for New Year celebrations. He emphasized that celebrations are permitted only until 1 am, and establishments such as pubs and restaurants must obtain permission well in advance. CCTV cameras are mandated at events, and noise levels should not exceed 45 decibels.

Further specifications include the deployment of security and traffic guards near events, with a prohibition on dances in pubs. Discouraging the issuance of passes beyond capacity, strict vigilance will be maintained on the transportation of drugs and illicit substances. The supply of liquor without proper permission is strictly prohibited, and stringent actions will be taken against drunk driving offenders.

In prioritizing attendee safety, organizers are directed to verify the age of participants by collecting copies of valid identity cards to prevent the attendance of minors. Furthermore, the police underscore the responsibility of pub and bar management to arrange for drivers or cabs to transport intoxicated patrons, contributing to efforts to curb drunk driving incidents.
