Hyderabad Metro used to transport heart via green corridor

On Tuesday, the first-ever green corridor was created along a Hyderabad Metro route to transport a heart harvested from a middle-aged man. The corridor was created so that the heart reaches Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills in 30 minutes flat from Kamineni Hospital in LB Nagar.
The journey of the heart began at 3.30 pm or so. It travelled more than 20 kms. On-road, without a green corridor, it would have easily taken more than an hour.
The heart was harvested from a person who was brain-dead.
Reportedly, the Metro management was involved in the task and the co-ordination was carried out in the perfect way possible. An ambulance was kept ready to ferry the organ from the Jubilee Hills station to the hospital.
