The Hyderabad Metro Rail operations have been indefinitely suspended in view of the anti-Agnipath protests in parts of the city. Earlier today, arson broke out at the Secunderabad railway station, where firing by the police was reported.
The spokesperson of the Metro Hail said that passengers have been informed that all operations in all three lines stand suspended until further notice. The passengers have also been advised to make alternate arrangements.
The Secunderabad protests turned violent, resulting in complete panic. "The most ghastly was the attack by arsonists and goons on East Coast Express at Secunderabad Station. Passengers, including children, fled in panic as petrol bombs were hurled. This is coordinated anarchy, not a protest against Agnipath," wrote senior journalist Kanchan Gupta, who is associated with the Modi government.
The protestors are demanding that the Agnipath scheme be scrapped. It has to be seen how the KCR government is going to deal with the protestors.
