Imagine ambulance services arriving by helicopter. It's called Air Aid. Described as the country’s first 24/7 private air ambulance service, this one comes with emergency medical pieces of equipment that can treat accidents, cardiac and orthopedic emergencies and even organ transplants.
Wings Aviation is all set to invest Rs. 150 crores in scaling up this service across India, especially South India. The first States to be served are Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. An Air Aid helicopter can fly for 450 km without stopping anywhere for refueling.
What about the cost of care? Obviously, it must be huge? The company says that a customer availing the service will be charged Rs. 1.50 lakh per hour.
We suppose that there is every chance of costs coming down eventually as economies of scale emerge.
