On Friday, it was reported that a 32-year-old man killed himself in Kerala's Thrissur district after he failed to secure liquor due to the ongoing lockdown. Two more such incidents have come to light in Hyderabad.
Madhu, a young painter working in the Telugu film industry, has reportedly jumped off the fourth floor of a residential building in Banjara Hills. As reported by The New Indian Express, he died on the spot before he was rushed to Osmania Hospital.
Just a few kilometers away, Sai Kumar (32) attempted suicide because he couldn't find alcohol anywhere in Hyderabad. So, he took the extreme step of jumping off from the Begumpet flyover.
The duo had been showing withdrawal symptoms due to the non-availability of liquor. Psychologists and psychiatrists say that alcoholics experience extreme distress when they fail to get hold of their doses.
