Hyd: Four foreigners arrested for duping a doctor in name of marriage

Hyderabad police have unravelled a matrimony fraud in the city. Three Nepali and one Nigerian nationals are behind the fraud. The four accused are suspected to have successfully defrauded a female doctor of Rs 12.50 lakh in the name of a marriage alliance.
As per a Times Of India report, the doctor became a victim when one of the accused reached her after seeing her profile on Bharat Matrimony. He posed himself as a surgeon from the US. After talking on the phone for a few days, the accused promised to send her costly gifts, including jewellery and iPhone, from America.
A couple of days later, the victim got a phone call from another accused, who told her she has to pay Rs 7.50 lakh as customs duty and GST in order to receive the order. She was later made to pay another Rs 5 lakh.
After the accused ran away with her money, the woman realized that it was all a trap. She complained to the police, who traced the four men and arrested them.
