Hyd: All set for laying foundation of Airport Express Metro

"Hyderabad is forging ahead," wrote KT Rama Rao, the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, announcing the foundation-laying ceremony for the Airport Express Metro by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on December 9. This project, as is known, covers the stretch from the famous Mindspace junction to Shamshabad Airport.
At a length of 31 KM long, the infrastructure is being laid at a cost of approximately Rs 6,250 Cr. Funded by the Government of Telangana, it is going to be inaugurated in 2025.
KTR has also updated the people about another infrastructure project of grand proportion. "We have submitted DPR and are in discussions with the Government of India for an additional 31 KM city Metro expansion; BHEL to Lakdikapul -26 KM & Nagole to LB Nagar - 5 KM (sic)," he wrote.
Netizens are lauding the government. "What an amazing move in the state public transport infrastructure development. This would encourage more usage of public transport. Hoping this to complete on time and effectively," a Twitter user wrote.
