Bekkam Venugopal, the producer of such films as 'Cinema Choopista Mama' and 'Nanna Nenu Naa Boyfriends', is currently making a film titled 'Husharu'.  Starring fresh faces, it has music by Radhan of 'Arjun Reddy' fame and cinematography by Raju Thota.

Tell us about your new film.

We started shooting this movie since last Dasara.  Although I could have teamed up with a big star, I decided to do this movie only because I loved the story.  Harsha Konaganti will be introduced as the director.  I am sure it will become a trend-setting movie. 

Why have you chosen 'Husharu' as the title?  What is the progress of the movie?

The narration is peculiar and humorous.  'Celebration of Bad Behaviour' is the tagline. The title is quite apt.  The shoot is almost over but for some patch works.  Post-production works have been on.  

Tell us about the cast and crew working on this entertainer.

There are four male leads and they are all new.  Three female leads are newbies.  Rahul Ramakrishna of 'Arjun Reddy' fame (he was recently seen in 'Bharat Ane Nenu') has played a crucial role.  His character enters the screen in the second half and completes the film.

Radhan has composed beautiful songs.  There are six songs and two bit songs in total. Raj Thota's cinematography is another big plus.  He has worked on 'Arjun Reddy' in the past.  

The tagline 'Celebration of Bad Behaviour' has a certain aura of negativity.  What is the rationale?

'Husharu', in fact, stands for certain values.  There is good and there is bad.  Ours is a full-on youthful entertainer.  Youth are our target audience.

When are you planning to release the movie?

Now that we have announced the title, we are looking forward to unveiling the First Look, teaser, trailer and other pre-release material.  The idea is to release the film when the colleges will be re-opened, in mid-June.

We heard that you are going to do a film in association with Dil Raju.  Is it true?

It's true.  Once I complete 'Husharu', I will meet with Raju garu and plan a film like we did 'Cinema Choopista Mama'.  I will make an announcement soon thereafter.  It will be directed by a newcomer.  A new hero from a film family will be introduced as the hero.  It's a big project whose pre-production formalities have been going on for five months now.  It will be shot from June.  Mickey J Meyer will compose the music.  

What are your other upcoming projects?

Besides the aforementioned project, I am going to team up with Trinadha Rao Nakkina for a new project.  It will be made next year.  A film with Vi Anand is also on the cards.  

Looking back, how does it feel being in the industry for more than 12 years?

It was in 2006 that I started out with 'Tata Birla Madhyalo Laila'.  I have made 10 films in the last 12 years.  I am hopeful that our new attempt, 'Husharu', will be lapped up by the audience.
