The lockdown imposed across the country has put such vulnerable women and children at risk. The graph of domestic complaints against women is climbing up at an alarming rate.

Recently, a 31-year-old woman in Bengaluru has sought Police help after her husband stopped taking a shower ever since the lockdown was announced on March 24 in India and for forcing her to have sex with him every day. In her complaint, she mentioned that she had been pleading him to take bath and that after she refused to have sex with him, he allegedly hit her. The woman also alleged that her 9-year-old daughter also stopped taking baths following her father's footsteps.

Her husband has a grocery store but the shop is closed since the lockdown. Ever since the lockdown has started, he has also stopped bathing. The mother of two sought help through Bengaluru's women's helpline number.
