In a fateful incident, a Kerala woman who was repatriated to India, gave birth to her child just a day after her husband died in UAE. The deceased, Nithin Chandran was supposed to join his wife Athira Geetha Sreedharan in Kerala, to be with her during the delivery but passed away in sleep in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Now Athira has given gave birth to a baby girl, yet to know the fact that Nithin is no more. Athira had earlier moved the Supreme Court seeking permission to travel from UAE to Kerala for her delivery. As advised by doctors to avoid panic, Athira is yet to be informed about Nithin’s death.

Within a month after sending off Athira on Indian’s government’s first repatriation flight from UAE to India, Nithin passed away due to a cardiac arrest in his sleep at their Dubai residence. Nithin reportedly was suffering from a heart condition and was taking treatment for high BP. Nithin was involved in repatriation efforts and played an important part in sending many people back home. After being posthumously tested for COVID-19 the results came negative, and his body is expected to be repatriated tomorrow.
