Hurt singer blames Devi Sri Prasad

The song 'Aa Gattununtaava' from 'Rangasthalam' was originally rendered by Shiva Nagulu.  However, after recording the song, Sukumar and Devi Sri Prasad felt that the pitch of his voice is not apt for Ram Charan's expressions.  So, they decided to record the song all over again with DSP.  As such, the audio version has Shiva Nagulu's voice, whereas in the film, we hear DSP's.

The original singer feels bad about the development.  "I didn't even know about this.  My friends went to watch the movie FDFS.  They called me up and told me it's not my voice. I argued with them that it's mine.  But when I watched the movie, I was thoroughly pained to see that my song was not there in the movie," he says.

"I am an ordinary singer who performs at small functions.  And for me to be put in the big universe of 'Rangasthalam', it was a blessing.  Had they informed me beforehand, I would have prepared myself for the bad news," Shiva Nagulu says.
