They say laughter is the best medicine. Priyadarshan has started believing in this mantra more than anyone else and it's certainly working for him.
Priyadarshan tries some diversity and uniqueness by roping in the southern talent, Vidyasagar, for composing the music while he remains loyal to Sameer for lyrics in this album.
"Hum dil ke" is a soft mellow number by Shaan and Sadhna Sargam. The melody of the track is somewhat good, but the pace is literally crawling, which eventually gets boring.
The item track that rolls up next will leave you wanting for no more.
"Lut gayee Lanka Ravan ki" is an item track with solid rural effect. A sincere team effort by Gayatri, Sayonara Philip, Poornima and Raja Lakshmi goes in vain due to a melody that has no takers.
It takes a track from Anand-Milind to salvage this middling album. "Ishq main" is a delightful song sung by Shaan and Alka Yagnik with some romantic remembrances. This is the best soundtrack of the movie.
"Lee humne kasam" restores the triteness of the album with a sagging tune and Hariharan's smooth vocals. The southern feel is quite prominent in the track.
The album concludes on a humorous note with "Dekho zara dekho". Anand-Milind once again compose a likable tune with a combo of singers like Udit Narayan and Kunal Ganjawala, which creates a diversified effect while the track advances from a slow sombre tune to a swift racy melody.
Musically, Priyadarshan's movies have always lacked sensational soundtracks and "Hulchul" only seems to be appending the list.
