Wolverine has spoken. Hugh Jackman has officially given us an update that it will be the last time he'll play the X-Men character Wolverine in his next titled 'Wolverine 3' before "hanging the claws".
Hugh said, 'This will be my last one. It is my last time. It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let`s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I`m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it. I kind of have in my head what we`re going to do in this last one. It just feels like this is the perfect way to go out.'
Now, the question that's popped up is whether Hugh will make an appearance as Wolverine in the next 'X-Men' film due next year 'X-Men: Apocalypse'. As of now, Hugh hasn't been spotted anywhere on the shooting set of the upcoming X-Men film currently taking place in Montreal.
It must be noted that Hugh Jackman`s portrayal of Logan/Wolverine is perhaps the most iconic in the franchise since he first started playing the character in the original X-Men film back in 2000. Wlverine was used potentially as a bridge to bring about the many X-Men characters from the original and prequel trilogies together in last year's massive blockbuster 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'. His presence in the 'X-Men' franchise has always been a major plus at the Box Office and will no doubt be tough to replace.
The third 'Wolverine' film is expected for a 2017 release and 'X-Men: Apocalypse' will hit theatres on May 27, 2016.
