Actor Vijay was last seen on screen in the Atlee directed Bigil, the sports based entertainer released last Diwali. After the success of the movie, Vijay will be seen next on screen in director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Master.

Master which has Vijay playing a college professor also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Arjun Das, Shantanu, and many others and was supposed to release on April 9, but Coronavirus pandemic has pushed the release to this Diwali.

While many movies are now preferring direct OTT release following Ponmagal Vandhaal, Master team has made it clear that the movie will release in theatres first. Irrespective of this, Vijay's movies are in huge demand on OTT platforms, and reportedly Master's OTT streaming rights has been acquired by Amazon prime for a massive 15 crores. It must be noted that Vijay's previous release Bigil's streaming rights were acquired by Amazon prime for a whopping 18.5  crores.
