Among the newcomers S Shivan is outstanding in several ways. He knows how to give a good treatment to his screenplay and at the same time knows how to make it look grand sans vulgarity and attract the family audience. He has learnt these two at the beginning of his career. His film is coming late after two years and one month from the day of launch but there is enough proof that Shivan strikes in the coming days with some more good works.
Debutant young producer Darshan Priya observations are true that the present genre youths connect to their life. The soft and sensible style is what is impressive in this film. Yet first half could have been still strong with a little more pace but it never tortures the viewers.
Other two redeeming feature of this film are cinematography by Thyagarajan - this is in fact his debut but `Pancharangi' got released four week back. Dharma Prakash scoring of songs are good but wrong words pronounced by singers should have been taken care of. Had he taken care of it he would have got full marks.
The beauty of the film is the narration of the film. The three prominent roles - Geetha, Priya and Kamini introduce how they got into the life of protagonist Sanjay and so is Sanjay sitting at the airport in the two hours gap he introduce about his life and link is what not disturbing throughout the film. Geetha (Monica) a village belle is courageous to hold an unlit cigarette when she meets a boy on compulsion. Such a fire in her melts down when she comes to Bangalore on knowing that Sanjay is in love with Priya (Roopali). But that does not happen according to director. Priya is checked by her elder sister Kamini (Vandana Gupta) who is also secretly in love with Sanjay. In the tiff of sisters who will get closer to Sanjay?
You have to watch it to know more about Geetha and how Sanjay faces the siblings? What happened to the promise Sanjay has made to his parents in the village?
Rahul looks well made for the role. He is lively and has a good physique too. He has a good future ahead. Roopali, Monica and Vandana Gupta - with different mental make up are good in their portions. With a luscious song number Vandana Gupta scores. Rangayana Raghu once again gives side kicks from his dialogue delivery.
Thyagarajan has done splendid job once again after `Pancharangi'. His camera angles are very attractive to the viewers in the theatres.
Three songs are well scored by Dharam Prakash the lyrics are well measured but singing is what is below average as the words are not properly pronounced.
Worth going to the theatres to take a look at your past and remain best today!
Scoring 7/10
