The press was enamoured by the gorgeous, picture perfect pair. The audience loved them. They were there in hordes to see the lovely Jodha and the handsome Akbar off the screen. The venue was all set for welcoming the ‘royal’ couple. Drapes and screens off the sets of 'Jodha Akbar' adorned the lobby of PVR cinema here to welcome the special invitees and media persons.

Her peach-hued chiffon, sequined saree matched Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan’s peaches and cream skin tone and Hrithik looked dapper as ever in a black jacket ensemble. Of course, one could not miss the dazzling jewels that Aishwarya was wearing. But it was her million dollar smile that shined the farthest. Both the stars looked totally chilled and at ease answering their share of questions, even as it was their director Ashutosh Gowariker who took most of the questions.

Though there was much speculation about the lead pair actually making it, they came much to the excitement of their fans. But it was not just Ash and Hrithik. Ashutosh came with his entire team that included Hyder Ali, his writer, Nitin Desai, his designer, his cinematographer, actors Sonu Sood and Suhasini Muley were flown in too to attend the press conference. Being the captain of the ship, Gowariker took most questions about the making and casting of Hrithik and Aishwarya Rai. He answered at length and also passed on the megaphone to his technicians wherever he thought they deserved credit.

Since the occasion was the premiere show of the Telugu version of Jodha Akbar, he even called upon Mona Shetty who took up the tough task of coordinating the translation of the film into Telugu and Tamil. She informed that while Sai gave the dubbing for Hrithik’s Akbar, Jai Geeta gave the voice over for Ash’ Jodha.

When asked if it was a conscious effort on the part of him to project more of Hrithik instead of Akbar, Ashutosh jovially retorted that Hrithik and Aishwarya were indeed the reincarnations of Jodha and Akbar. Hrithik was all smiles for being appreciated for his portrayal of the Moghal king. He was all charm as he replied to the questions hurled at him by the ‘girl reporters’.

Finally, it was time for them to sign off and they were quickly rushed downstairs for a little promotional activity before going to watch the Telugu version of the film along with more enthusiastic fans.
