Director Siddharth Aanand's 2019 film 'War' was a milestone in Bollywood action films. It brought two best action stars of country, Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, together on screen and made way for Siddharth Anand to become one of the best action film directors in the industry. The film completed two years of its theatrical release recently and on the ocassion, Siddharth confirmed that a sequel is on the table.

He said, "We knew that if War works, we will make a sequel. [Aditya Chopra, producer] and I have shared some thoughts on how to take it forward. We will hopefully start it by next year. War 2 is a big responsibility, and we need normalcy to be restored before we can dive into it."

However, it is not certain whether Hrithik and Tiger will reprise their roles. Siddharth said, “We have not yet thought whether Hrithik and Tiger will come back, or whether we’ll rope in a different cast. Hrithik has such a sharp mind that he will give you the correct perspective on the script, even if he doesn’t do the film. Tiger is tremendously focused.”

Currently, Siddharth's schedule is tightly packed as he is directing Shahrukh Khan's 'Pathan' and after that he'll start working on Hrithik Roshan's aerial action film 'Fighter'. Both of these projects have Deepika Padukone as the female lead.
