Telugu Film Industry has been working from past 7 decades with very little number of breaks due to political situations in the country and Telugu states. But this time, Corona Virus has forced a huge lockdown and stopped all major activities at once.
Now, future of the film industry doesn't seem predictable as people will be highly scared and there will be restrictions in place for a successful control of Coronavirus hereafter, even though lockdown period is not extended further post 3rd May.
So, how can TFI proceed further in such situation? Suresh Babu, the senior most and vastly experienced producer of Telugu Cinema, opines that theatres should wait for two more months to re-open post shootings resume. He wants to take a precautionary, wait and watch approach than rushing into things.
Directors and writers are trying to complete their scripts as quickly as they can to arrange for shooting as soon as the lockdown is over. But things won't be simple and there will be restrictions in place for atleast two to three months to see that the corona virus transmission is absolutely under control in our country.
Well, this means future for now is bleak and only from June, a clear roadmap can be designed. Many small time producers might wait for response from public to watch films at theaters, before going for shoots. Big producers might ask technicians to take pay cuts and distributors might not be ready to go for fancy rates to buy rights, like before.
