Ram Charan should have been playing Vijay's role in Nanban (Snehithudu in Telugu), had he been told that Shankar would be directing the movie. Things were not planned at that level when the producer of 3 Idiots arranged a special screening of the film even before its theatrical release, and requested whether Cherry would be interested in reprising Aamir Khan. An opportunity has been missed. And, it is forever.

Thus, before Prince Mahesh Babu missed the golden opportunity of working with the class director owing to dates issues, it was the Mega Power Star who refrained from doing it because he was inhibited by his belief that he was no match to Aamir Khan .

"I was the first one to watch this movie even before its release. The producers asked me to do the film in Telugu. I felt that only someone of Aamir Khan's stature can do this. I would not have said no had they told me that Shankar was going to direct the movie", he said to a surprised audience at the audio release of the Telugu version of Nanban held in Hyderabad yesterday.

It may be noted that even Chiranjeevi had openly said that although he had bid adieu to films, he would not think twice to don the greasepaint if Shankar offered him a film. Looks like everyone wants to work with Shankar.

As an aside, Shah Rukh Khan blundered by terming Robot a "half-baked story". He went on to make Ra-One which the rest of the world found half-intelligent. Phew!
