House Speaker Kevin McCarthy began an impeachment investigation on President Biden, expanding congressional inquiries into his family's foreign business dealings during his vice presidency. House Republicans have submitted multiple queries to executive branch agencies about Joe Biden's ties to his son Hunter and brother James' overseas activities, many with September deadlines that might lead to legal action. An earlier Oversight Committee inquiry found that the Biden family and their supporters gained over $20 million from foreign sources, including Hunter Biden's China, Russia, and Ukraine business links.

The impeachment inquiry gives congressional investigators more legal ability to examine Biden family financial documents and enforce executive branch subpoenas. Republicans also want to know why Joe Biden interacted with his son's business associates while vice president.

House Republicans have found significant and compelling allegations against President Biden. These charges suggest a corrupt society "McCarthy said.

A recent CNN poll found that 61% of Americans believe Joe Biden was involved in his son's business, with 42% feeling he acted unlawfully. A May Harvard-Harris poll indicated 53% believed Joe Biden and his son were illegally influence-peddling.

Joe Biden's employment of pseudonyms "Robert L. Peters" and "Robin Ware" for vice presidential communications and the National Archives' request for them are key questions. Additionally, congressional Republicans will subpoena Hunter and James Biden's financial records. These data may show if money from Joe Biden's relatives' foreign income paid a large amount of his costs.

The impeachment inquiry examines Joe Biden's proposal for the ouster of Ukrainian prosecutor-general Viktor Shokin in exchange for $1 billion in US loan guarantees under President Obama.

Congressional Republicans are also interested in Hunter Biden's BHR Partners and Chinese business meetings. The impeachment probe is investigating Joe Biden's vice presidency and the Biden family's worldwide business activity.
