The gruesome rape and murder of Jisha, a Government Law college student in Ernakulam on April 28 has left the nation shell shocked and many celebrities have voiced their dissent over the recurrence of such incidents all over the country.

Paruthi Veeran` fame Priya Mani took to twitter to share her anguish and has tweeted that India is not safe for girls and women and has asked them to leave the country to safe havens abroad. Though her tweet received support from some quarters others took exception to it branding her anti- Indian and now the soon to be married actress is busy defending herself stating that she only commented about the sorry state in the country and is no way speaking against the country.
