The reason for this widespread speculation is that the lady superstar agreed to preside over and give away Amma Awards to sports persons.

The Amma Sports Foundation on the occasion of National Sports Day and the first anniversary conducted the event yesterday at the Madras University compound to honor deserving sports persons, real achievers and unsung heroes. The special guests included Viswanathan Anand, P.T. Usha, Vasudev Bhaskaran and Kris Srikanth. The awardees were mighty pleased to accept the Amma Awards from the hands of Nayan who was at her smiling best.

As far as the information we received from sources close to Nayanthara the ever busy actress is not even remotely interested in politics and is very much keen on enjoying her standing as the topmost heroine in the South. Her upcoming movies this year are Iru Mugan` with Vikram which is releasing on the 8th of September and Kashmora` with Karthi which hits the screens on Diwali.
