Thenandal Studios and Sundar C's ambitious period fantasy film 'Sangamithra' has captured the attention of world cinema businessmen after getting a launch at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. However soon after that the project lost its heroine Shruti Haasan who departed due to creative differences.

While Jayam Ravi and Arya are the two main leads lots of speculations are going on about who would play the title role 'Sangamithra'. The latest news that is floating around is that Sundar C has ticked his recent favorite leading lady Hansika for the weighty role. Hansika has been a constant in Sundar C's films of the past including, 'Theeya Velai Seiyanum Kumaru', 'Aranmanai', 'Aambala' and 'Aranmanai 2'. The official announcement will come sooner than later as the shooting is scheduled to begin in August this year.
