The rumour that actor Vikram was admitted to a hospital in Chennai after he suffered a cardiac arrest is false. Kauvery Hospital today issued a statement putting the record straight.

Vikram had suffered from some discomfort in the chest. This was falsely reported by the media as a case of cardiac arrest.

A team of specialists evaluated Vikram's condition and said that he is clinically stable now. The 'Cobra' actor will be discharged soon.

Vikram is also doing a thriller titled 'Cobra', which hits the screens on August 11. Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, it has Srinidhi Shetty playing the female lead and Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan as the chief antagonist. As for 'Ponniyin Selvan-I', whose teaser was released today, it hits the screens on September 30.
