Ravali, a third-year B.Sc. student from Warangal district, today became a victim of a stalker's cruelty. Anwesh, her classmate at Vagdevi College in Krishnapuram, set her on fire for refusing to marry him.

As per early reports, the accused has been forcing Ravali for a few months to accept his marriage proposal. Ravali, on her part, spurned his overtures. The boy continued to stalk her incessantly.

Today, while the victim was on her way to a place, Anwesh stopped her forcibly and asked her if she would be ready to marry him. When she said no, he emptied a bottle of petrol on her and set her afire.

Ravali is currently being treated for severe burns at MGM Hospital. The accused was nabbed after a hunt.

There were people in the vicinity when the ghastly incident took place. They were mute and scared spectators. None of them came forward to prevent the cruel stalker from committing the unspeakable horror.
