Hope for small films

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,July 23 2005]

This season may have been bad (overall in terms of collections). But there sure have been some positives.

The main among them is the acceptance of small films that are without frills and fancies but with good story and production values.

Anukokunda Oka Roju, Naa Oopiri, A Film by Arvind ---- all different kind of films -- have had good reviews about them.

None of these films had what the conventional attractions --- larger-than-life stars, big budget, foreign locales.

But they have had good music, good production values and, most importantly, a gritty story and a solid script.

These things, Tollywood has learned to accept, are the ones that make a good success.

And these things are excepted to be main ingredients of Mogudu Pellam O Dongodu.

This 3-character film Mogudu Pellam O Dongodu would be releasing on August 12.

The film features Raja, Shriya and Brahmanandam with Venky (of Kabaddi Kabaddi fame) directing it. Kabuliwala has scored the music.

If the film succeeds, Tollywood would be emboldened for more experiments and novelties.

And that would indeed be nice for all those who take their films seriously.
